Spring Break from $25 pp

March 13th, 2013 by teresa

7559342-kids-hiding-behind-tree-trunkSpring break is almost upon us once again.  Down let them drown you out with cries of ‘Mom, I’m bored!’  Treat yourself to some time away and provide the kids with some wholesome entertainment courtesy of the Montana Rocky Mountains with stays from $25 per person per night when you book using our 20% Spring Break discount.

Spring is a great time to visit our area.  There’s always snow on higher ground at this time of year bringing the opportunity for snow sports and winter fun whilst in the valleys you have the opportunity to hike, bike and enjoy the awakening of flora and fauna along the trails.

Our 10% activities discount allows you to make even greater savings and will help to keep the kids active and occupied.  Treat them to a snowmobile ride to the top of nearby Desert Mountain.  The view stretches right across Glacier National Park and up to Canada.  Its an unforgettable experience.

Grab a pizza in nearby Whitefish and then enjoy a little night skiing at Whitefish Mountain Resort. Treat yourself to a refresher lesson and polish up your skills on the slopes whilst the kids enjoy activities in the Base Lodge.

The Flathead Lake is a sight not to be missed.  You can take a drive right around it stopping for refreshments at picturesque Bigfork, or to visit the Miracle of America Museum at Polson.  Blacktail Mountain offers family friendly skiing with great views across the valley from the west side of the lake.  Catch a movie in Kalispell on your way back or enjoy family style dining at a number of  restaurants.

For those who you just can’t drag away from the Mall, Kalispell Center Mall will stave away withdrawal symptoms, but we’re pretty sure the spectacular scenery and great outdoors will win the day overall.  Its impossible to stay here and not appreciate the vastness and pristine nature of our environment (whatever your age!).

Glacier National Park Lodging

March 5th, 2013 by teresa

The Historic Tamarack Lodge and Cabins provides a range of Glacier National Park lodging choices from our location, only eight miles from the West Entrance to the Park. Choose from cozy Montana couple’s cabins, Glacier National Park themed lodge rooms in a 100 year old lodge, or a two-bed family sized cabin.  Our Lofted Cabins each have private balconies with a forest view and Unit Cabins give you a great view of the sun as it sets over the mountains.

Front of Lodge

Take a full tour of our property with 360 degree, high definition photography.  Begin at the front of the lodge with views of the lodgepole pine exterior, deck and unit cabins either side of the lodge.  You can view the parking facilities for the unit cabins, the deck areas and the location of lower picnic areas and family cabins on the hillside.  The Antelope and Bison Cabins are located behind the unit cabin block to the left of the lodge as you view it.  The Griz Cabin is visible on the 360 photo tour of the Lower Picnic Area.

Use your mouse or cursor to move around whilst in the tour.  Click on the hotspots which appear as blue circles within the tour to see other areas of the property.  Choose from lodge front desk area which leads on to a view of the beautiful interior of the lodge, then take a look at our lower picnic area with volleyball net, fire pit and covered pavilion.  Travel up the hillside (where you will find Glacier, Grinnell, Avalanche, Summit, Alpine and Iceberg Cabins) or view the new cabin area (home to the Lofted and Couple’s Cabins).  While you’re up there you can also check out the upper picnic area or the view from a balcony of one of our lofted cabins.

All great choices and all available from our Front Desk!

The trailhead starts five miles north of Columbia Falls on F.S. road 316. The trail leads to Whitefish Mountain Resort on Big Mountain where you can take a break at the Summit House. Another option is to continue past Big Mountain to Upper Whitefish Lake or go to Kimmerly Basin, a great place for some snow play along the route.
