We love our Unit Cabins!  Traditional, motel style units with a touch of Glacier National Park, our unit cabins are located at the front of our property in two four-plexes either side of the lodge.  Log exteriors with parking situated in front of shared decks/walkways, these cabins face the evening sun as it sets between the twin peaks of Teakettle and Columbia Mountains and offer cozy, comfortable accommodation for 2-4 guests visiting the Glacier National Park area.

Single Unit Cabins feature one queen bed, a private bath, a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave and coffee making facilities. Double Unit Cabins have an additional queen bed.  All cabins have satellite tv and wifi included and housekeeping is provided daily as standard.

These cabins are also available for long-term rentals October-April at reduced weekly and monthly rates. We have one unit cabin left for 2013/14 season!

Attention to detail, such as original light fittings as designed by the owner who built the cabins, handcrafted log furniture and decor designed to reflect the beauty of the natural area will ensure you feel right at home.

Join us in the lodge for a coffee from our espresso bar, warm your toes by our fireplace after exploring the local area or rent a bike from us and get some mountain air in your lungs!

Fall facilities in Glacier National Park

August 17th, 2013 by teresa

Fall_47Whilst shortening days and cooler temperatures see many of the facilities in and around Glacier National Park beginning to close for the season, there is still plenty to do and see.  The Historic Tamarack Lodge and Cabins stays open year round to enable visitors to our area to enjoy Glacier National Park through all four seasons.  Each season has its own particular beauty and Fall is no different.  Low water leads to mirror-like lakes reflecting the beautiful colors of the changing foliage creating fantastic opportunities for photographers.

Cooler, autumnal temperatures and fewer visitors make for excellent hiking and biking on the trails in and around Glacier and the Hungry Horse Reservoir, and hunters can find opportunities with local outfitters throughout the season.

Our Espresso Bar and Gift Shop will stay open, offering visitors and passers-by the opportunity to enjoy the history of the lodge.  Relax in the Great Room and enjoy a latte or cappuchino while you warm your toes by the fire.  Catch up on emails with our free wifi, or browse our Gift Shop for that perfect treasure to remind you of your stay.

We think Fall is the best time to visit the mountains of Glacier Country and we look forward to welcoming you to your Fall home away from home.

Book your stay today and take advantage of our low seasonal rates (our cabins are also available for long term rental from October-April).

Glacier National Park Lodge Rooms

June 18th, 2013 by teresa

Our Lodge began its life of service to the community as one of the original visitor centers for guests to Glacier National Park arriving by train at West Glacier until 1949 when, with the formation of West Glacier and the decision to build a school in the area, the lodge was sold. Purchased by the Rowles family, it was dismantled log by log and moved via logging trucks to its present location.

Today, the lodge continues to provide guests a truly wonderful experience in keeping with the spirit of the Montana Mountains in which it resides.

Sympathetically refurbished in 2013, the lodge now boasts four Glacier National Park themed lodge rooms for our guests to experience a taste of traditional mountain living.

Lodge Room guests enjoy a private entrance located at the side of the lodge. Parking spaces are allocated close to the entrance which leads into the lodge Great Room.  Lodge Room guests enjoy 24 hour access to the Great Room.  Relax on the over-stuffed furniture and soak up the history of the 100 year old lodgepole pine beams.  Enjoy a book from the library in front of the original stone fireplace.  A large flat screen tv brings you up to date with free satellite service.

All of our lodge rooms have lofted ceilings, exposed beams and hardwood floors.  Choose from: the Deer Lodge Room, sleeping up to two with one queen bed and an attached bath; the Bison Lodge Room (sleeping up to four with two queen beds and attached bath); the Moose Lodge Room (sleeping up to four with two queen beds and attached bath) or the Grizzly Lodge Room (sleeping up to five with two queen beds and a daybed).  The Moose and Grizzly Rooms share a covered balcony making them a great option for groups of up to nine guests travelling together.

Lodge Room guests enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast in the lodge which also houses an Espresso Bar, Gift Shop and restaurant (serving The Shak BBQ from 3pm).

With daily housekeeping as standard and attention to detail such as ceiling fans, handcrafted furniture and adjustable lighting, you can enjoy the ambiance of a traditional Glacier National Park lodge with all the modern amenities you need for your comfort.

We look forward to welcoming you to your home away from home!
