Food and Drink at the Historic Tamarack Lodge and Cabins

shak1The Historic Tamarack Lodge has always had a welcome at the ready for passers by and visitors to our area. From its origins as a visitor center to Glacier National Park, through its many years as an inn, it has offered hospitality aplenty and continues to do so.

We are happy to continue the tradition and ensure we keep the homefires burning for our guests throughout the year.

Now we are able to spread the love even further with a selection of dining options !

‘Off the Beaten Path’ at the Historic Tamarack Lodge and Cabins offers our guests a chance to enjoy relaxing in the lodge Great Room with an espresso made to your requirements by our team of trained baristas.  Join us in the lodge for coffee and pastries and share the highlights of your day, plan your next outing using our selection of maps and guidebooks, or simply relax and enjoy the ambience of mountain living.

In our gift shop area we have a selection of healthy meals and snacks including Go Foods for hikers and Earth Angel Gluten-Free Pasta ready meals for dining inside or out.  There’s a range of Made in Montana goodies such as Huckleberry Haven Wild Huckleberry Jam and our freezer is fully-stocked with yummy ice-cream.

Join us at the lodge between 3pm and 9pm (June 15 – September 30) for The Shak Southern Fried Chicken and BBQ or grab a take-out meal for a picnic or to enjoy at your cabin.

Whatever your taste or dietary requirements, we’re confident you’ll find something to suit.

Columbia Falls

March 19th, 2010 by HTL

The closest small town to the Historic Tamarack Lodge and Cabins, Columbia Falls, is located at the entrance of the Canyon, the Gateway to Glacier National Park.

For the kids, there is Pinewood Aquatic Park, with outdoor pool; the Big Sky Waterpark with its chutes and slides; and two great playparks.  For the adults there are antique stores, and plenty of places to dine.  Why not try the Three Forks Grill for a great evening out ?

In the Summer months there is a fantastic weekly Farmer’s Market selling local produce and showcasing local musicians.

In the Winter, take your snowmobile out on over 80 miles of groomed trails via the Canyon Creek Trailhead or rent from one of our local outfitters.

Celebrate Heritage Days the last week end in July with a Rodeo, Parade, Craft Fair, Car Show, Basketball 3-on-3 Tournament and 5K & 10K Runs.

Or, take a trip back in time via an alternative route to Glacier National Park by following the North Fork Road to the Camas Creek Park Entrance. A twenty mile drive following the North Fork River there are plenty of opportunities for photography and fishing. Be warned – the last nine miles of the roadway are not paved !

Just a few miles from your accommodation at the Historic Tamarack Lodge and Cabins, add Columbia Falls to your itinerary for a great day out !
