Montana State Parks

April 9th, 2010 by HTL

Whilst the stunning scenery of Glacier National Park is a must-see on any trip to the area, not quite so many people are aware of the Montana State Parks.  An additional way to absorb the beauty of Montana, State Parks close to your accommodation at The Historic Tamarack Lodge and Cabins include Lone PineWhitefish Lake, and Wayfarers.

Views from Lone Pine stretch across the Flathead Valley, down as far as Flathead Lake and are spectacular at any time of day.  There is also an information center where you can learn about the local geography and wildlife or buy maps and souvenirs.

Watching the sun set over the Flathead Lake from the shore-line at Wayfarers is truly a memorable event.  Do NOT forget your camera !

For travellers wanting to go a bit further afield, access to the Flathead Lake from Yellow Bay provides a sheltered bay for swimming or watersports, public restrooms and a boat ramp.

Ask your hosts for further information and for directions to the Park of your choice !
