‘A warm welcome at the Historic Tamarack Lodge and Cabins.’
The Historic Tamarack Lodge originally built in 1907 and updated in 2003 provides classic ambiance with modern amenities. Originally welcoming visitors arriving by train in Belton, the lodge was moved log by log to its current location in the gateway to Glacier National Park in 1949 to make way for the school at West Glacier. Its 3400 square feet of rustic charm and lodge pole pine architecture has provided a warm welcome to guests near and far for more than 100 years.
Today, we have expanded to include 17 private cabins and have a further seven scheduled for completion in May 2012. Known for our year-round outstanding hospitality, clean and comfortable facilities, continental breakfasts and affordable lodging rates, we continue to ensure the lodge is a welcoming environment for guests to our area.
Open to all our cabin guests who are welcome to to experience its rustic charm, lodge pole pine architecture, and huge natural stone fireplace, the lodge itself is also available for events hosting, its architecture and tradition making it the perfect setting for exchanging wedding vows, family reunions or corporate retreats.
At the heart of our lodge we maintain the original stone fireplace which, for years provided warmth and comfort to travellers seeking respite from the outside world. What better after a day sparkling on the slopes, or exploring the miles of groomed trails by snowshoe, ski or snowmobile than to relax and unwind with a hot chocolate or toddy by the fire? Unused during former years, it is our goal to restore our fireplace to working condition to ensure guests, traveling to experience a Montana winter wonderland, are greeted once more by an open fire.
In the spirit of lodge hospitality, we would like our guests to be a part of restoring the heart of the lodge and invite you to stay with us during October when all our profits will go towards restoring the chimney. In return we are dedicating October to returning guests, friends, families and neighbours by offering a 75% discount on all our accommodation.
