Wildlife viewing in our area

April 16th, 2010 by HTL

The Historic Tamarack Lodge & Cabins boasts a wonderful resource
library for visitors coming to the area. Regardless of your interest
and activity level, we at the Lodge can help assist you in further
research and planning.

A part of ‘The Hunter Travel Guide’ series,  ‘The Adventure Guide to Montana’  by Genevieve Rowels is a great resource for our visitors who come for hunting season but is also a wonderful guide for any and all guests seeking the spectacular wildlife in the Montana Rocky Mountains.

Offering coverage of the history, culture, geography and climate, as well as wilderness trips in Montana, this book is highly recommended by avid hunters and wilderness lovers alike.  Much time is spent on our own beloved backyard, the Flathead National Forest but coverage also extends to the Flathead and Clearwater Mountains and fly-fishing, Nordic skiing, rock-hounding and overnight hiking excursions.

Another great way to experience the wildlife in the area is via horseback and we highly recommend Swan Mountain Outfitters for guided horseback rides and tours. They have two great locations on the West Side only minutes from the Historic Tamarack Lodge & Cabins. Ask about tours when you call our front desk.

Avid wildlife watchers come to NW Montana during almost every season
of the year to view specific creatures in this amazing wilderness.

Opportunities exist in almost every location surrounding our Lodge. Regardless of the season and whatever interests you have, our staff are here to assist you in your adventures.

We look forward to helping you plan your vacation !
